Hidden Scams

Protect yourself from fake
instant loan offers

Just instant transfers, at your fingertips

Scammers often target people looking for quick loans by promising instant approval with minimal to no checks

Common Scam Tactics:

Scammers create fake loan apps or websites that appear legitimate

These offers usually come through phone calls, instant chat messages, SMSes or through social media

They ask for sensitive personal information such as bank details, Aadhaar numbers and other financial information

Demand Advance Fee or processing charge or security deposit for loan disbursal. They pressurise you to act immediately, claiming the offer to be time-bound. After the payment, they disappear

How to safeguard yourself

Unsolicited Offers: Be cautious of loan offers you receive unexpectedly via calls, e-mails or advertisements

Too Good to Be True: If the loan offer seems unusually easy with little paperwork or no credit checks, it’s likely a scam

Advance Fees: Genuine lenders never ask for upfront payments before disbursing a loan

Never share personal or financial details like DOB, OTPs,passwords, CVV numbers or bank details

Report

If you receive a suspicious loan offer, disconnect immediately and report it through official channels.

Report online fraud on the National Cyber Crime portal at cybercrime.gov.in, call the helpline number 1930 or call ICICI Bank helpline on 1800 2662

If you have received any malicious / phishing / suspicious e-mails or calls, please report these to Sanchar Saathi at sancharsaathi.gov.in and to ICICI Bank at antiphishing@icici.bank.in
