Beware of emotional manipulation in online scams!
Beware of emotional manipulation in online scams!
With rise in online interactions, fraudsters are increasingly using emotional manipulation to exploit trust. Please stay vigilant about the following warning signs commonly seen in online scams that involve romance, impersonation and investments.

Watch Out for the Below Signs:
Be cautious of strangers who quickly express deep affection or speak about fate, soulmates or love at a very early stage.
Scammers often avoid video calls or in-person meetings- this is a major red flag.
Never send money, cryptocurrency or gift cards to someone you haven’t met in real life.
Be wary of stories involving urgent medical emergencies, stranded travel or issues with Customs officials and ‘too-good-to-be-true’ investment tips.
Ask specific and direct questions- scammers often slip when pressed for real details.
Avoid sharing personal data, intimate photos or financial information with online acquaintances.
Do not click on suspicious links or download apps suggested for trading or cryptocurrency investments.
Remember These Safety Tips:
Never share personal or intimate content with strangers
Enable strict privacy settings on all social media platforms
Avoid engaging in flirtatious online chats with unknown individuals
Cover webcams when not in use
Educate youth and family members about consent and digital safety
If you are targeted, do NOT pay- payments rarely stop the threats
Stop all communication immediately and block the perpetrator
Take screenshots and preserve all evidence
Inform the local police or the cybercrime cell
Seek mental health support and talk to someone you trust.
