Being Responsible, Being Sustainable: ICICI Bank ESG Report 2022-23

I am happy to share with you ICICI Bank's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report for 2022-23. In fiscal 2023, we advanced in our ESG journey on conducting responsible business, and promoting sustainable and inclusive growth. During the year, we enhanced our commitment towards environment by implementing various initiatives including the Framework for Sustainable Financing, Suppliers' Code of Conduct and Guidelines on Green procurement in our operations. We also introduced an assessment to measure, monitor and reduce the carbon footprint in our own operations. Through our philanthropic arm, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth (ICICI Foundation), we aim to create an enduring impact on the society and environment. Our efforts on providing affordable and accessible healthcare, creating rural livelihoods and supporting societal development have made a difference to millions of lives till date. In addition to our strong environmental and social orientation, we continued to reinforce our robust corporate governance during the year. We have put effective governance in place including independent and diverse Board of Directors and Board Committees. We have also made Codes of Business Conduct and Ethics applicable to all employees. We also aim to uphold a strong risk and compliance culture at the Bank. Some of our key achievements mentioned in the ESG Report 2022-23: • 17.1 billion litres of water harvesting potential created annually • 2.6 million trees planted since inception, of which 1.4 million in fiscal 2023 alone • 17.08 million kWh of renewable energy used at the Bank's own premises in the year • Our societal initiatives have positively impacted 10.9 million people till date • We spent ₹4.63 billion on CSR initiatives in fiscal 2023, substantially higher than ₹2.67 billion in the previous year Please click here to read the full ESG Report 2022-23.
