Guidelines to report financial frauds, in India

Dear Saurabh Kumar,

If you happen to notice, any financial fraud or an unauthorised transaction in your account, then report it immediately by following these steps:
1.Contact the Bank: As per RBI regulations, if illegal transactions are reported immediately, the Bank will pay back the lost amount, if they find there is no fault with the account holder

2.ICICI Bank customers can report suspicious/phishing e-mails at antiphishing@icicibank.com

3.Report the fraud or file a police complaint

4.Block the compromised account and move the money to a different account

5.Monitor all accounts closely.
How does one file a cyber-crime complaint in India?
Cyber-crime comes under the purview of global jurisdiction. This means that a cyber-crime complaint can be registered with any of the cyber cells in India, irrespective of the place where it was originally committed.

Register a written complaint with the cyber-crime cell

Provide your name, contact details and mailing address. The written complaint should be addressed to the head of the cyber-crime cell of the city, where you are filing the cyber-crime complaint

In case you are a victim of online harassment, a legal counsel can be approached to assist you with reporting it to the police station. Depending on the nature of the crime, you may be asked to provide supporting documents with the complaint

Register a cyber-crime FIR: If you do not have access to any of the cyber cells in India, you can file a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station. In case your complaint is not accepted there, you can approach the Commissioner or the city's Judicial Magistrate

Certain cyber-crime offenses come under the Indian Penal Code. You can register a cyber-crime FIR at the nearest local police station to report them

You can also report cyber-security incidents at the national cyber-crime reporting portal: https://cybervolunteer.mha.gov.in/webform/Volunteer_AuthoLogin.aspx

Sincerely,
ICICI Bank Limited.
