Dear Customer,
This is to bring to your notice that the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has revised the process of e-BRC (electronic Bank Realisation Certificate) generation introduced by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade). As per the revised process, DGFT has migrated the dependency of e-BRC generation from Banks and RBI Export Data Processing & Monitoring System (EDPMS) to a secured DGFT system where exporters will be able to self-generate e-BRCs by logging in through their Import Export Code (IEC). |
|
Following are key features of the new system: |
• | In this new system, exporters will have to map shipping details/ documents against the pre-populated Inward Remittance Messages (‘IRMs)* received against their IEC and generate e-BRCs on Suo Moto basis against those IRMs. | • | Multiple shipping bills/ invoices can be mapped to a single IRM, and multiple IRMs can be linked to a single shipping bill/ invoice. | • | System will have validation for purpose codes for both service and merchandise exports. | • | System will allow multiple purpose codes to be linked to a single e-BRC. | • | System will have the functionality for e-BRC amendment/ cancellation of unutilised e-BRCs. | • | This new system will reduce the documentation and turnaround time in e-BRC generation for exporters, as it is independent of EDPMS outstanding. | • | These e-BRCs are also visible to the exporter’s Bank to track their utilisation/ cancellation. |
|
*IRM details will be shared by Authorised Dealer ( ‘AD’ ) Banks to DGFT. |
|
Process for e-BRC generation |
• | Exporters are required to log in to their IEC Account on DGFT portal for e-BRC generation where they will be able to locate all the IRMs against their IEC. | • | Exporters can either fill the export details manually against a single IRM or download these IRMs in bulk (preferably in csv format) based on different filters like date, bank name, etc. and upload the file on the portal. | • | Exporters can also upload shipping documents/ invoices individually or in bulk in a predefined format. | • | For merchandise exports, exporter needs to upload shipping bill details and for service exports, user needs to upload invoice details. |

Please find below diagrammatic representation of the new process for easier understanding: |
